What is BrainChocolate?
BrainChocolate is currently in the middle of transition–the below video is for the surgery recovery portion of BrainChocolate, which will always remain here, but the focus of new posts will be of another type. Posts regarding surgery recover will be added occasionally, and if you have a particular question, shoot me an email at Nathan [at] brainchocolateblog [dot] com and I’d be happy to answer questions or write a post about a particular subject I haven’t yet covered.
Apologies for the confusing “About” page. This will all be updated and smooth quite soon.

On February 2, 2010 I had open lung surgery to correct my reccurent lung collapses (thoracotomy/pleurectomy to fix recurrent spontaneous pneumothorax).
I’ve done hours and hours of research but it’s been difficult to find much of anything on the web about the day-to-day of preparing for and recovering from major surgery.
Because this is what would have been most helpful for me going into surgery, I decided to video blog my experiences to help me through it and to help others who have to deal with major injury/surgery.
I hope I can create something of some value for you if you are or will be recovering from a surgery or injury.
I’d like to interact with you all as much as possible and hear your experiences, thoughts, challenges, and how you’ve dealt with them. Please feel free to leave comments comment or shoot me an email: Nathan [at] brainchocolateblog [dot] com

[Below is the non-surgery-related BrainChocolate description.]
[Me and my sister in Depoe Bay, OR]
Any of the following sound good?
- More free time
- More money
- Less stress
- Healthier lifestyle
- Real-life examples
- Real systems to get you started
I’m not in the business of touchy-feely pseudo-psychology so BrainChocolate offers none of that. I’m interested in absolute results that come from tested systems whether it’s designing a diet and exercise routine that’s right for you, or laying out the study skills that can cut your study time in half and dramatically increase your quality of work.
Posts will include articles on nutrition and exercise, general productivity strategies, effective learning strategies, food and wine, and much more. The content will always be fresh and only the best will be published. Expect consistent, value-packed content and an average of one post every 1-4 weeks.
Get an email each time I post by clicking this link–my posts are spread out but consistent so you get a very low flow of high quality schtuff into your inbox.
Enjoy,
Nathan P. Schmitt
